There are many different kinds of examples of what distinguishes this desire for, we know not what, from all other desires that we can imagine. This is like the desire to enter a great city on your knees rather than to bring a great city to its knees. Descartes uses the ontological argument first, and that's no good, but then he uses an existential argument. I Descartes experienced the event in time of the idea of a perfect God appearing in my mind - just as a storm is an event in the universe. Events need causes.
