The Cultural Revolution Is Not a Routine
The point of the cultural revolution was to try to root that out in a sort of more fundamental profound and transformative fashion. It didn't work as we know it was spectacular unsuccessful in its own terms but yeah that was to read with the cultural revolution rather than against it. The facts of history and how to re-narrate the past in the present in order to imagine a different future are absolutely fundamental, he says.
