The US War on Drugs Is Getting Worse
The US war on drugs started in the 60s under Richard Nixon, but really ramped up during the Bush Jr administration. Since that step up in 2006, where drugs were going to be fought in the same way we fight terrorism has the situation on the ground gotten better or worse and are more or less drugs making it to the US markets? To be quite blunt, this war is definitely getting worse. All these metrics point to increases in the last few years. This is not a nationwide issue. You have plenty of states in Mexico that are completely safe with relatively high citizen security. That does not mean that there's no presence of organized crime.
