Monkeys and the Poleo Vacia
The monkeys were brought in and, sadly, used for biomedical research. This was back during the era they were looking for a poleo vaccine,. And also the vervets were sold to john hopkins. Yet, while they colonized the mangroves near the airport, they have actually thrived. To day, there is about 30 to forty of them, and according to missy, they are pretty healthy.
