How to Keep Your Dog at the Sweet Spot in the Yerkes-Dodson Curve
The Yerkes-Dodson curve shows that learning occurs at an optimal rate when there are sufficient arousal to be interested in it, but not so much that you're frenetic and you lose focus. There's this sweet spot at the top of the curve where learning is optimized with the right level of arousal. So having impulse control and teaching a dog to go over threshold and then pull itself back is a really useful skill.
