The Negative Effects of CVS Caremark on Independent Pharmacies
CVS pharmacy is able to negotiate really good deals because they're purchasing so much drug from a wholesaler. But your small independent pharmacy, who's like a one one pharmacy in a town, doesn't have that negotiating clout. CVS health could potentially pay their pharmacies better than they pay the independent pharmacies when drugs are filled there. And so it kind of squeezes out these independent pharmacies, which we don't want to be doing.
