The Second Messenian War took place in the middle of the 7th century BC. Spartan Argos and Laconia were bitter enemies throughout their history. The two kings charged with prosecuting the war were the Aggiad king Yuri Kratis, the son of Polydoris, who ruled from around 665 to 640 BC., and the Yuri Paunted King Anax Andridis, the first,.
