Themes of the Book of Yusef

The novel is a bildongs roman, but it's inpurely panzanian african. The moslem characters use the same vocabularies about africans as european used about generally the africans. There are also themes of trade and power within that arab and muslem context. And then, of course, is the theme of love, right? Or lust, but mostly love.
