Do Not Send Kids Back to School

CNN's John Sutter says the New York Times broke a story that he believes was meant to be taken out of context. The paper said California, which stood out for its caution in reopening schools, scores declined slightly less than national averages on several categories. This sort of disagrees with all the previous analysis I've seen on this topic and it seems like we're going to act as if there weren't any problems at all when they could have made a difference. He says people who are interested in getting a particular spin on the story usually present it to reporters behind closed doors.
