The Three Evangelical Councils: Chastity, Poverty and Obedience

Chastity is living sexuality correctly ordered, rightly ordered. Celibacy means essentially forsaking sexual activity for the sake of the kingdom. Chastity is entering into or refraining from that sexual activity according to one's state in life. Poverty and obedience are the other two evangelical councils. The consecrated folks do this in a very intentional and specific and lifelong way.
