Deafness in the Seventeenth Century
In the seventeenth and eighteenth century, deafness was seen as something to be cured. Deaf people could not get married because they couldn't say "yes" There were no formal education for the deaf so many had a very hard time in life. In practice, when you have a baby that turns out to be deaf, of course youre gon to take care of your kid. And so somehow, many people in the streets day, know, they find ways to make them useful,. They bring them to church, tespi any worries.
