A high yield savings account is simply a normal, everyday savings account. Higher yield meaning a higher interest rate. Investing accounts like a rothaaray or four on k are for longer term goals such as retirement and children's college savings. You should not be putting your money into an investing account to earn you more in interest. But it still pales in comparison to hi-yield savings acounts.
