The Impetus for Dr. Palmer to Kill John Cook
Dr. Palmer had taken out a £13,000 Life insurance policy on his own brother who suffered from severe alcoholism. When Walter died, Dr. Palmer never collected the money because he went to the insurance company and they became suspicious. They had just paid out the same policy to him for his wife. And so they said, we're not paying you anything,. I think was the impetus for him to kill John Cook because he didn't have to go through an insurance company. There was no policy to deal with. It was this guy's race track winnings. He got careless.
