How to Convert Your Elevation to Mean Sea Level in Android X
The standard coordinate system used on all sorts of things was height above ellipsoid. In reality the earth is not quite a sphere because it's spinning and like the it sloshes out so gravity tries to make it a sphere. The steepest spot in the world in terms of the sea level changing is apparently around the Hawaiian islands those volcanoes are so much heavier than the water that they pull the gravity’s heavier and the sea level dips down an extra few meters there.
