Longspeak is sort of a shadow because it sits to the west of this plateau that you're hiking on. It could be blue sky above you, but storms brewing across the continental divide west of Longspeak. You can't see these storms coming until they are right on top of you. And so once that first lightning strike hit, we started booking.
