Security Threats - How to Securitize an Issue

A security threat allows you to securitize an issue. A securitization, if you want to reduce it to its essence, is simply the removal of an issue from normal politics. So in short, wouldn't that be the kind of response the world needs to deal with climate change? Because if we all agree that this is spiraling out of control, now is the time to act. Should we not get ahead and try out a kind of emergency response ideally on a global scale?
