When Shanghai was censored, people were taking A4 pieces of paper out onto the street to demonstrate we are a blank sheet of paper, we can't say anything. People very quickly learn that the government will try to silence them and there are new ways that they can talk about this. One of the ways they do it is with a piece of software known as a VPN. It's not illegal, but it's something that the government would rather people didn't know. They also have been highlighting since President Trump was in power in the US that there has been this influx of fake news in the West. And so they've very much wanted to paint a message that people should trust what Chinese media
