Is the Family Withering Away of the State?
The family is very clearly an instrument and maybe a wing of the state. At certain points of colonial incursion and high intensity settler colonization, the family was required to maintain ties against that process. So it's really clear that there's a sort of way that the family is unbeknownst to us because we tend to think of it as this kind of natural entity. And then there's this question about its function for capitalism, its provision of incredible amount of free labor for the market.
