Is the Word Chief Offensive to Native Americans?
The san francisco school district decided that they are going to ban the word chief from any of their titles. They claim it's offensive to native americans. But again, chief is not even an indian word. It's european. It comes from the word chef. So how can native ericans possiblbe offended by a word that doesn't even have a native american origin?
