Travellers fall into two distinct branches, and they can be roughly ped together. Branch a includes people who mostly tend to be connected to the town of rathkeel in southern ireland. Group b is more genetically distinct from the other irish, as opposed to group a. And so it is true that there are certain genetic conditions and disorders, such as hurler's cindrome, that are common among travellers.
