Gospel of John is a chronology for Jesus' life and ministry, but it's worth studying each gospel individually. Study the gospels individually so you can understand their particular portrait of Jesus. All four gospels agree he came to suffer, die and rise again; they approach it from different angles. The Gospel of Mark was written perhaps based on the testimony of Peter - even though Matthew wasn't written yet.
