The Pathway of Lymphoma Research
As a second year fellow at Stanford in 2008, you had an idea that could be used to treat lymphoid malignancies. You were presented with the idea by Jonathan Friedberg and it was kind of this like, wow, this is a fourth leg of the pyramid. But as a fellow, you sort of quickly were pushed aside. And I could see that the career path in the traditional academic setting was going to require innovative thought and a lot of pointy elbows. It's not always yours to, you know, keep for yourself as long as you might want to.
