Lending With Interest
If we didn't have world war wone, and if we continued on the gold standard, hypothetically imagine a world in which, you know, we just continued to have another 110 years similar to the era between 18 70 and 19 14. In that kind of world, people are saving a lot. There's an abundance of capital. If you're going to be borrowed, why would you want to on the risk if the return is extremely low? And so in my mind, lending will tend toward equity investment instead. Wed have the lower interest rates go and the more abundant capital, the more that the lenders can just a take equity rather than lend.
