As long as what you're saying is correct and people can understand you, I really, really don't mind a strong accent. Here in Spain people use the verb cayad much more loosely than in other places. You'll hear teachers say cayados and it doesn't sound that bad. Be careful with this pronunciation. It's closer to sire la voca which is pretty rude. So in general when talking to people you should use be quiet and not shut up.
