Do You Think the Economy Shrank in the First Quarter?
The first look at real g d p for the first quarter, and wee got a negative number. What do you think that signals to us about the us? Economy? I think it's a couple of things. Consumption still remain pretty high, that businesses are still investing. There was insufficient domestic production to supply that demand. And so you saw our import surge about 18 %. But yo, ive it ail the head it is very much a surprise that we saw a slow down in the first quarter. So going forward, i still look for the consumer to remain very healthy, and to also supplement that health with a very strong business investment environment.
