Susan was barely in her 20s when Sam swept her off her feet. She dated another doctor and almost married him, but even during her engagement, she still had occasional flings with Sam. Susan realized she'd carry a whiff of scandal with her wherever she went in Cleveland. In late 1953, Susan packed up and moved to Los Angeles. And where, in March of 1954, Sam went for a business trip with Marilyn. It made poker night at Miller's house very uncomfortable.
