In your central nervous system, spinal cord brain, it's an oligodendrocyte that does that for you. These are the cells that do the wrappings. Now, by doing this wrap in, what it actually does for you is speed up the length of a medium nerve going from your fingertips up into your spinal cord. That is how far... A meter? A quarter meter. A meter distance of one axon. One axon. Long way to go.
In this episode, Dr Matt and Dr Mike discuss how the nervous system allows us to walk, talk, smell, taste, hear, and feel!
This episode is about the electrical and chemical signals that the body sends called action potentials!
