Dope Lake: A Tale of Two Friends
Ron Lykins and a friend head into the high Sierra backcountry to meet some friends. They hike about eight miles before they begin to lose the trail underneath snow. Below them is Lower Merced Pass Lake, a six acre mountain lake that looks bigger in person. Out of the corner of his eye, Lykins spots something that seems very out of place. It's metallic looking as it glares in the sun. Hydraulic oil still dripping from frayed lines, staining the snow below.
