I was struck by the audience's reaction. Two weeks ago I was running a focus group in Stoke-on-Trent and they're so fed up as you are. Everybody in this room is just crying out for something that is completely different to what we've got. We can all sense it. They've been given this unique opportunity, this enormous majority. We've done nothing with it. If Rishi Sunak wins he will make sure everybody can do maths A-level. How many people got maths A- level in this room? No journalist put up their hand there. He would be so impressed.
