The Failure of the Church in Africa

In sub Sahara Africa, the church membership grew over 20 years by five times and congregations grew by four times. That's good retention. The seventh day Adventists and the Jehovah's Witnesses emerged in the earlier mid 1800s from America. They are American based churches from the mid to the early 1800s that also have a very strict code like the LDS church does.
