JFK's New Year's Resolution

The Kennedys began their barnstorming tour of Texas on November 21st 1963 in San Antonio. The president and his wife Jackie were greeted by large crowds who lined the streets as they drove through Dallas. But not every Texan was happy to see JFK many of the state's voters opposed Kennedy's pro civil rights ambitions. Lee Harvey Oswald, a 24-year-old former Marine had been court martial twice then demoted and discharged in 1959 he returned to America after being released from prison with no charges against him. He worked at the schoolbook depository for several months before moving to New Orleans where he met Fidel Castro. In September 1962 he traveled to Mexico City handing out pro communist
