The Difference Between Science Fiction and Philosophy

There are areas of overlap, right between philosophy and science fiction. But there's still a fundamental difference between them in terms of the cognitive mechanisms that we use to deal with those different stories. Our brains don't really process a science fiction narrative in the same way as a philosophical thought experiment. Even if you write a philosophical article, I think the details in the thought experiment generally matter.
