The Importance of Shunyata in Buddhism
Nagajana was one of the key figures in the development and later popularity of Mahayana Buddhism. His most famous work is the Mula Madhyamaka Karika, a real mouthful of a word that means something like root verses on the middle way. The teachings of Shunyata or emptiness are kind of exactly what it sounds like. It states that all things in the world are empty, that is, they are empty of intrinsic nature or existence.
