Introduction
Gout is a disease first described by the ancient Egyptians. It affects 4% of the US population with some pockets of prevalence even higher worldwide. The manuscript we will discuss was recently published in Arthritis and Rheumatology. We are joined by Dr Tony Merriman, an internationally renowned scientist who studies the genetic basis of Gout and rheumatoid arthritis.
