The Role of Intracellular pH in the Production of NH4

The stoichiometry of that transporter is kind of cool, right? So that's the thing. You need that in order to achieve that against the gradient. And then you also get increased NH4 production from glutamine. All of these are stimulated by just the acidemia. But specifically the acidemia, these proteins are pH dependent. If they don't look at the bicarb and CPACO2, they really are dependent on the pH to derive these things. That what's important is the intracellular pH,. not the intrace cellular concentration of CO2 or bicarb.
