The Importance of the Environment for Women

Some research suggests there's a relationship between gender inequality and high levels of environmental degradation. Other studies have found that governments with more women in them are more likely to enact environmental policies. Links have also been found between gender based violence and the environment when it comes to things like control of scarce resources or just land, for example.
