How the Soviets Approached Western Ukraine

In 1945, the Soviet Union basically gets the same borders from the Americans and the British, that they did from the Nazis in 1939. About 1.5 million pre-war Polish citizens will be deported from what becomes the western part of Soviet Ukraine. Incidentally, roughly 100,000 were Jewish survivors of the Holocaust, who were deported westward to Poland because they were not Ukrainian. The Soviets used practices such as, you know, when they killed a nationalist partisan, they would bring the body and drop it in the local village.
