Student Loans for New Starters in Wales
In Wales, your income affects how much of the maintenance funding they get is a non-repairable grant and how much is a repayable loan. The total borrowing that you start with is lower in Wales than in England. So when he leaves university, he will repay 9% of everything above £25,000 and he will repay that for 40 years until unless he clears what he borrows him for in the first place. Interest rate will be based at RPI. Same repayment terms will apply for wealth student loans for new starters from 2023 as those in England,. not the same in Scotland and Northern Ireland.
