The Role of Mary in the Rise of Jesus
Kneejay points out that Joseph, who would have been a sensibly helping to raise Jesus, he kind of disappears in the biblical story. Instead it seems like Mary would have been his direct, his most direct influence. I am thinking of the dozens of times I have heard sermons or read books by men talking about how Joseph the carpenter had such an influence on Jesus. And yet never have I heard about how Mary who has this entire beautiful soliloquy, how that might have influenced Jesus in any way.
