The Beatles - The Beatles' New Single "6 Miles High"
Gene Clark was working on what he hoped would be the group's next single, an impressionistic song about their trip to the UK. They were convinced it was going to be a hit, but Columbia Records wouldn't put it out. It had been recorded in RCA Studios, and Columbia would only release music recorded in their own studios. So they went back a month later and remade the track with Columbia West Coast Vice President Alan Stanton as nominal producer.
