The Importance of Jazz in Dacapo
Jay Cantrelli had played sax with Leonecles in some of their early groups several years earlier. The music this new lineup of the group started performing was characterized by everyone who heard it at the time as jazz rock. Other styles I hear in Dacapo are Barak Pop, Folkrock, Bossin Over and more than a little influence from Burp Bekorak. Everyone has agreed that the chords, melody line, and lyrics to Stephanie Knows Who, of all Arthur Lee's work, were written by them.
