The Reaction to the Hawaii Fire in the United States
We're joined by Dr. Kimiko Barrett who is a wildfire research and policy analyst with headwaters economics and an advisor to the Biden administration on wildfire. We all have perceived Hawaii as a paradise as a little island sanctuary. And it's not traditionally seen as a place of wildfire exposure, though I would think that many of the people who do live there and work in wildfire would think otherwise. So I would say that we're in shock, we're in awe. It's a tragedy.
