A lot of autistic people experience difficulty coordinating mouth movements. And for many other reasons, producing speech or even producing our most reliable way of communicating can be intermittent and patchy. There can be also really big differences between receptive and expressive communication skills. So I think there's a huge issue in our industry where so many of our assessment tools are a poor match to understand how an autistic or neurodivergent person is communicating.
