The Duty of Responsibility in Buddhist Communities
How much of the discourse that we use to justify what we do and don't do is supported by the Buddhist community? How much of it is about giving each other permission to disengage or to choose to ignore. Those are the sorts of practice questions that I think contemporary Western Buddhist communities are really kind of responsible for engaging with. We'd be kidding ourselves if this wasn't a necessary question to be posed within Buddhist groups in the West.
