In this day rank is something you're born into it's fixed it can be only changed by things like marriage or a decree or an adoption. Status is fossilized so rank is fossilized status is this other stuff that we all know about: money, good looks and prowess at some activity or another. In many parts of the world today there are places where you could be of high status high rank but low in money so low in status where you could be a person of low rank but cashed up right? The last one on the the bottom right hand side of course is a figure from the um the Titus arch in in Rome uh which is top of the forum looking he looks
