Odinathus - The Impossible Man

Following the capture of valerian in two 60, the eastern empire stood on the brink of permanent occupation. Odinothus had come out of nowhere with a personality so strong and a skillset so superior to his contemporaries that it was almost like he was playing on a different level than everyone else. Right when it seemed like the end was nigh, the palmyrine prince swept in and not only delivered a decisive victory against the asonned army, but he held them at bay for the next seven years. The backdrop for the final chapter of the life of odonathus was the two 67 invasion of the roman empire by the goths.
