M i t has run a number of very large scale experiments that demonstrate quite clearly that social media information changes beliefs and behaviors. Unfortunately, we haven't been able to do all the large-scale experiments that we would like to. And the reason we need more is that if we're going to really solve the social media crisis that we find ourselves in, we have to stop armchair theorizing about how social mediam works and get under the hood and really figure out how it works.
