The Changes in Wimbledon's Surface
Wimbledon has been doing the exact same treatment for more than 20 years. The last significant change to the grass itself was when they switched from a 70% blend of rye grass to 100% perennial rye grass in 2001 or 2002. British summers have increasingly gotten hotter and hotter and hotter over the years, making the grass surface feel much closer to hard courts and clay courts.
