And all kinds of parties could come into play across the borders. So this is just a little profile of the situation when james comes to power in 16 o three. He wanted people to observe protestant worship, to teach protestant doctrines and to read and learn from the bible in english verse. This is why he sponsored a massive a project to create a new translation of the bible in 17th century England. We now know as the king james bible.
