Skydiving and the Death of a Jumper

Stephen Hilder, 20, died in a skydiving accident on July 2, 2003. He had become obsessed with the sport and jumped as often as possible. His girlfriend Ruth Woodhouse joked that he would get withdrawal symptoms if he hadn't jumped for a few days. Stephen missed an exam in favour of going jumping and maxed out credit cards to buy expensive equipment. The kit room at Hibbled's Stowairfield also doubled as a lounge room. Skydivers could hang out or watch TV there when not jumping.
